Prospective Members
The Cardozo Law Review selects its members based solely on academic and writing competition performance. The Cardozo Law Review does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.
Grade-On
All students who fall within the top ten percent of their class at the end of their first year are invited to join the Law Review as 2L staff members. Students do not need to participate in the writing competition in order to grade on to the journal. Offers are extended shortly after the Law School releases grades and class rankings.
Write-On
Each year, some students who perform exceptionally well in the writing competition are invited to join the Law Review as 2L staff members. The writing competition takes place in May for September-entry and May AEP students, and in August for January AEP and transfer students. Transfer, summer, and part-time students are eligible to participate in the competition as long as they have completed a minimum of 32 credits.
"Hybrid"-On
Some students will receive invitations to join the Law Review as 2L staffers by both (i) ranking in the top fifteen percent of their class at the end of their first year and (ii) distinguishing themselves in the writing competition.
